This project is located in Salt Lake City, it’s a newly built private house. Since the project is in a region that gets cold winters and hot summers: high and dry sunburn in summer and strong winds that can whip through the winter, we need to provide the new house with enhanced energy efficiency and help our client stays comfortable throughout the year. Our experts decided to use thermal break aluminum profiles with a double-glazing system.
Doorwin’s Exclusive Tilt and Turn Windows
In terms of the opening method, The client originally wanted to use a normal casement window to save costs, but experts recommend Doorwin’s killer product tilt and turn windows, which are more resistant to blustery weather while maintaining functions like air-tightness, alternative ventilation way, and accessibilities; tilt and turn windows form a complete seal when fully closed, and it can be opened in the upper tilt way to ventilate at a minimum opening status, when there’s a good day, it can be opened as normal inward casement windows.
As for the cost, a regular aluminum casement window average costs 500-800$ in the US market while our tilt and turn windows just need 200-300$ with higher standards in manufacturing, hardware, and energy efficiency abilities. After market research, our client decided to choose tilt-turn windows.
Considering climatic issues and the design needs of our customers, we offered a customized opening system with the upper half fixed window and the lower half tilt and turn window. In some situations, there are two separate tilt and turn windows.
Besides the tilt and turn windows, we also offered specially shaped fixed windows to fit the overall architectural style.
Custom color options

In this case, client wants to add white windows for a timeless look and to meet the overall interior decoration, but white windows don't compare to the exterior aesthetic. So, we give him the one window two colors solution with black exterior frames and white interior frames. This solution completely fulfilled our client's wish.
Not only black and white, but we also provide polyester powder coated 250+ RAL colors (with extra metallic and polished effects) to meet your infinite possibilities in custom design. Solid wood profiles are available in custom color and type choices as well.
Glazing Configuration
Double-glazing windows with US standards and NFRC certifications.
However, the SHGC value differs according to the side of the house. High SHGC glazed is used with caution on the sun’s facing windows to help with overheating in summer. In the beginning, our client thinks triple-glazing is the best choice since it has the best chances of keeping cold out; however, it may not be best for a mixed climate, where summers are hot, and it’s more expensive.
High-quality double-glazed windows will keep you warmer in the winter while cutting on energy costs; it’s also best for hot summer climates. So finally, we decided to go with double glazing.
Our energy-efficient integrated glazing units (IGU) feature double-pane glass, warm-edge spacers, argon gas fill, Low-E coatings, and fully tempered glass, they can not only create a comfortable and natural indoor environment but also save electricity bills and heating bills around 300~500USD per year according to your whole building’s fenestration areas. That’s a real bargain compared to choosing a regular glazing set.
Hardware and Accessories
For the Hardware System, Doorwin uses Siegenia multi-point locks and handles from Germany. With top burglar-resistant, the handles come with a long backplate in solid aluminum. The cylinder is practically inaccessible and the long backplate is almost impossible to remove. And the high-quality components, each is capable of sustaining 400lbs for high security and longevity. The friction stay is tested for more than 400,000 cycles, to put this in perspective, a window that is opened and closed 10 times a day should last at least 100 years before failure.
The multi-point locks system also provides better sealing and contributes to the insulation performance of the whole building. Together with Technoform Bautec’s insulation edge bond and sealant strips, these make up the top insulation and energy-saving performance of our products.

Delivery & Warranty
We export tens of millions of dollars of windows and doors to the U.S. every year, and we know that improper packaging can cause breakage of the product when it arrives on site, and the biggest loss from this is, I'm afraid, the cost of time, after all, workers on site have requirements of working time and it needs to wait for a new shipment to arrive in case of damage occurs to the goods.
So, we pack each window individually and in four layers, and finally into (non-fumigated) wooden boxes, and at the same time, there will be a lot of shockproof measures in the container, to protect your products. We are very experienced in how to pack and protect our products to ensure they arrive at the sites in good condition after long-distance transportation. What the client concerned, we concern most.
Each layer of the outer packaging will be labeled to guide you on how to install, it to avoid delaying the progress due to incorrect installation.
